A Big Weekend for Spandex
Hello, Olympic Spandex Faithful! It's been a big weekend of both Olympic and Olympic Spandex news. First up, the announcement that Tokyo will host the 2020 Summer Olympics. FANTASTIC! Not only can we pronounce the name (still working on Pyeongcheng, the South Korean city hosting the 2018 winter Games - luckily there are a few years left to sort that out), but check out this epic reaction shot of the bid team learning that they had won: The only thing that would make this better, besides spandex, would be if it were an animated GIF. Even still, I have hope for their national uniforms. Via: @olympics Possibly more exciting than this announcement was the International Olympic Committee's decision to re-include wrestling in both the Tokyo games, and the 2024 games of a yet-to-be-determined location. Though we'll miss those amazing unitards in Rio, knowing they are making a return in 2020 takes a bit of the sting out of it. Well, this looks comfortable...
